If you haven't heard of Chloe Moretz yet, don't worry... you're about to.
Fans who HAVE heard of Chloë Moretz know her as the cherubic, cheerful, and impossibly grown-up child actress who has already set Hollywood abuzz with her standout performances in Bolt, (500) Days of Summer and the just released Diary of a Wimpy Kid.
But it's her star making turn in next week's Kick-Ass, cast as the tween superhero of her own making "Hit-Girl" (aka Mindy MacReady) that will set the Hollywood newbie's career on fire. Guaranteed.
In the movie, Chloe plays the daughter of Nicholas Cage, a man who becomes inspired by a teenage would-be superhero who, despite having no superpowers, takes on the bad guys in his dull, uninteresting, crime-ridden world.
But Mindy can't let Daddy have all the fun... or the glory of a crop of everyday wannabe regular Joe teenagers who decide to clean up their city by donning alter ego costumes and getting their exploits to go viral on YouTube.
The previews for the film have erupted in spontaneous combustion from unsuspecting audiences and it's Chloe's performance that is generating the most buzz.
But not just for her acting, which is said to be stellar. Or her fantastic costume and acrobatic villain kills. Just as much tongue wagging is going on because of the eye popping adult behavior taken on by all the movie's teen characters. Get ready for plenty of "Moretz-Syndrome" jokes.
In fact, trailers for the movie generally have an age verification popup screen prior to viewing.
But Lions Gate had the foresight to release a G-Rated version.
Have a look right here.
And get ready for Chloe Moretz to kick-start a truly "Kick-Ass" career!
Sorry Dakota Fanning... You're not the only Runaway Hit Girl any more...
Enjoy!
