We was at grandma and grandpa's Saturday evening and James was wanting to take some pictures with my camera. I can not believe how well he is doing! I am highly considering getting him a digital camera as part of his birthday next month. You know one of those that are for kids but really works?
Has anyone else bought one? Do they work well? I don't want to spend a lot because he is only 3 (4 next month) and we have already bought him a Leapster for his Birthday, yet I don't want to buy something that don't really work. I want to help him with something he really enjoys doing and is good at. Any advice?

He really loves it. We did put a piece of black tape over about half of the flash, though, because otherwise it washes stuff out too much when you are very close to it.
It works well and he's dropped it, sat on it, etc.
I'd also shop the clearance sales at WalMart and Target and just look...sometimes you can find a good Kodak Easyshare on clearance.
Of course you will not get the quality of pictures with the kids cameras, but they hold up to the abuse very well, & small children don't seem to care about the quality of the picture. The nice thing is that you can upload them onto your computer because they come with usb cables & it is very simple to do. My kids have dropped theirs' down the stairs several times & they haven't broken (they've had them since Christmas).
And hey, photography and the leapster will both help him learn.
