Parker is by far the best overall prospect in the Diamondbacks minor league system, but after undergoing Tommy John surgery in October to close out the 2009 season, Parker's availabilityÂ to pitch during the 2010 season is one giant question mark. Luckily however, the reports on Parker is that he is ahead of schedule and progressing well in regaining arm strength. The best bet for fantasy baseball teams in 2010, is that Parker can make a solid recovery and eventually claim a spot in the Diamondbacks bullpen to finish out the 2010 season. In keeper leagues, Parker is one pitcher you will want to keep track of and possibly pick up around midseason or just after the All-Star break.

Their bullpen is at best average... however, if he can help them, they could contend for the NL West.

I am in a LIFETIME keeper league (ominous, as I am 65) and I have had Parker for two years; MLB had a review of the top 50 prospects; even injured, he made the top 10. Most pitchers come back BETTER after TJ surgery; like tightening up a timing belt on the car. I expect (hope) he will be at the top of the 'back rotation for a long time.
BTW, I have been on a 5-year Billy Beane franchise building program and plan to compete next year, when all the seeds sprout. So, I made a trade for Volquez too.
