Our DiGiorno House Party

A few weeks ago we were lucky enough to be able to host a House Party featuring DiGiorno’s new Pizza and Breadsticks combo boxes.  It took a little searching, but we finally found a place that was carrying them.  I like the idea of having you pizza and breadsticks together all for one low price – we got them at Wal-Mart (which we typically never shop at) for $6 and change.  Little Miss is showing off some of the cool swag that came in the party package!

 

 

 

We decided to serve margaritas and oysters to go with our pizza.  Sounds like an odd combo, I’m sure, but oysters go great with pizza since they aren’t very filling!  We got a 25# bag of oysters.  Some brave souls ate them raw, but most of them went on the grill.  The pizzas were a big hit!  As a (mostly) vegetarian, I liked being able to serve a pizza with meat on it to my guests, but also have something that I could eat (breadsticks).  We tried all three varieties, and judging from the empty plates I think they were all a hit.  The pepperoni pizza went the fastest, with the supreme following a close second.  The breadsticks didn’t seem to move as quickly, but I really enjoyed them.  The cheese pizza was the slowest to go, I don’t know if it had to do with the actual pizza or the fact that we cooked it last and everyone was already full.

The verdict?  I think people really enjoyed them, and I may get them again if we’re serving a crowd.  However, I don’t like them nearly as well as the DiGiorno Spinach and Mushroom pizza, so that will remain my pizza of choice!
