Physicians Group Sues Over Health-Care Law
Â
According to WorldNetDaily.com
The Association of American Physicians and Surgeons became the first medical society to file suit to overturn the newly enacted health-care law.
"If the [law] goes unchallenged, then it spells the end of freedom in medicine as we know it," said Dr. Jane Orient, executive director of AAPS. "Courts should not allow this massive intrusion into the practice of medicine and the rights of patients. There will be a dire shortage of physicians if the [new law] becomes effective and is not overturned by the courts."
The law requires most Americans to buy government-approved insurance starting in 2014 or face stiff penalties. The AAPS says insurance-company executives will be enriched by this requirement, but it violates the Fifth Amendment protection against the government forcing one person to pay cash to another.
The group also charges violations of the Tenth Amendment, the Commerce Clause, and the provisions authorizing taxation.

I was pleased to see another group - this time a group doctors - willing to step up and sue the government over the takeover of our health.

It doesn't surprise me that the doctors are doing this. It's not just a possible loss of income for them, the government can tie their hands when it comes to ordering tests and without tests it's harder to treat a patient. Doctors want to help their patients, not watch them suffer.

A vast Majority of these members are John Birhcers.
They oppose mandatory vacinations against childhood diseases.
AAPS argues that individuals should purchase medical care directly from doctors, and that there is no right to medical care. The organization requires its members to sign a "declaration of independence" pledging that they will not work with Medicare, Medicaid, or even PRIVATE insurance companies.
On Oct 25 2008 the AAPS website published an editorial implying that Barack Obama was using Neuro-linguistic Programming, "a covert form of hypnosis", in his presidential campaign.
Gee, what a psychosis.
Lastly, legitimate medical associations criticize AAPS for the NUTS that they are putting poitics before patients lives.
Wow Marilyn, maybe you should control who responds to your posts. Wouldn't want the world to know you are posting the rants of a NAZI "Medical" group.
She is one of those eager followers who never realizes that she is in the company of wolves.
I don't necessarily agree with suing the government over health care, but I will give them latitude. I would only ask that people put things in the proper context.
These are the same arguments heard when public education was created. Did that stop private schools from forming? Home schooling?
There will always be alternatives for those people who feel strongly.
I personally think in 10 years we will look back and wonder why it took so long to get this done.
Who is the AAPS????
This organization is BOGUS.
Take a look at their web site. This is not a medical organization. ANYONE who is willing to pay $95 can join.
Gee I wonder why there is no link to the AMA (you know, the organization of medical professional that requires a connection to the medical field to join)? Maybe its because they support the bill.
The New England Journal of Medicine said that 46,000 doctors plan to quit because of Obamacare. Is that good enough for you?
