Greys' Anatomy fans who have been waiting for Izzy to come back should stop. She isn't coming back, Katherine Heigl confirmed to Entertainment Weekly.
According to the story, it had nothing to do with the fights or diva-like attitude that was seemingly rumored to be part of Heigl's nature. Rather, she recently adopted a girl Naleigh and wants to spend time being a mother. She initially asked for a three-month leave to bond with her daughter and that was granted. She was expected to appear in the final five episodes of the season, but that is no longer the case.
The scene where Alex tells Izzy goodbye and that he deserves better is the last for Isabella Stevens.
Heigl expressed how difficult of a decision she made.
“I know I’m disappointing the fans,†she told EW. “I just had to make a choice. I hope I made the right one.â€
In the interview that will appear in Friday's Entertainment Weekly, Heigl talks about the controversies over the year in a candid interview with Michael Ausiello. Check out the article when it comes this Friday.
