I had a wonderful time last week with my good friend, Renee, who came to visit from Massachusetts and meet my family. One of the things she wanted to do was take me and my two-year olds to the zoo, so on Thursday morning we packed up the girls and headed for the Virginia Zoo.
The entrance of the zoo is really pretty and right away we noticed a cool elephant sculpture.
Then, it was off to see the animals!
These cool, stripey critters are called bongos.
The giraffes were just sitting around.
The elephants were snacking.
These tiny turtles were sunning themselves, and we decided they were twin turtles.
We caught a glimpse of a snoozing lion couple.
And, get ready for the cuteness
and fennec foxes!
The zoo had an open cage with a sign reading "Human Being" so of course we had to get some photos of my little critters in there. Someone walking by actually said , "Look, twins!" like my kids were on display.
Well, they are really cute!
