On March 29th a trial has already been set for the defamation lawsuit filed against Oprah Winfrey by headmistress Nomvuyo Mzamane from Oprah's Academy for girls.
Due to open court restrictions in South Africa the school girls who are now ages 14 and 15 testimony might have to be videotaped.
Winfrey who is also scheduled to testify will be defending the comments she made regarding the sex scandal at her school. Winfrey has been ordered to attend all trial days and witnesses from South Africa will travel to Philadelphia by visas.
In recent statements Oprah said her plan is to prove Mzamane didn't act accordingly when dorm matron Tiny Virginia Makopo was accused of sexually abusing students. Oprah also accused Makopo of attacking a dorm parent and injuring three people while wrecklessly driving a golf cart after drinking champagne. Instead of apologizing she retaliated against the girls and when they told headmistress Mzamane she didn't do anything.
In the beginning Oprah suggested hiring nurses to act as dorm matrons to 7th and 8th graders but Mzamane hired 8 young and inexperienced women from a company called "Party Design". Mzamane was later informed that the women were not fully qualified for the position.
Oprah repeatedly said her comments were only an opinion of how she felt about the incident.
