As I walked by my daughter Bella this afternoon, on my way to the kitchen to fix her lunch, she softly said "I love you."  My heart melted and I turned to her. "You love me?" "No!" she replied. "I was talking to the Madagascar guys!"she said, referring to her beloved DVD. Ouch....

Kids keep us humble! I found that to be true, but just try for some "me" space and they'll be right with you. Cause they love you Mommy!
This is so true! I know they love me because I can't even use the bathroom alone! :) Those Madagascar guys are pretty loveable, too, though...

Oh, my! the bathroom scene! I had three little girls and as soon s I hit the bathroom I had an audience. Our little Beagle even stood guard for me. Those were the days. My girls are now parents and two are grammas. Time flies and I'm so glad to watch you enjoy your motherhood. It is the most joyous time in our lives. THEN if you can believe it, being a Gramma is even MORE fun. Gramma's life is more relaxed and kids love the slower pace and not rushing around. I think being a gramma is the reward for being a mom!
That makes sense. A lot of times I have to ask the girls to wait for me to read to them or play with them because I'm busy doing something else. On the other hand, when they go to my mother-in-law's house, she says they are perfect angels because she is able to sit and play with them the whole time! Some days I just put off the chores to spend a little more time on the floor doing puzzles...

My how we can go from a momentary emotional high to a low real fast--I feel your "shock." I can remember when we had a young single mom living with us with her 2 old for a while and when you'd say "love you" the little one would say it back. I am a crazy woman when it comes to kid--silly as all get out. One day when she was a little over two she was in the high chair finishing her lunch and I was starting to clean up doing who knows what to be entertaining and she looked at me and said, "Neenuh?" (her made up name for me). I said, "yes, baby?" She got this silly grin on her face (in response to my personality and silliness at the time) and said, "I love you." And you could tell it was with feeling not parroting, I about melted into the floor. I still remember the feeling I had and when I started reading your post I saw you with the same feeling--and then, well, she will verbalize it some day, but for now you can see it in other ways.

should try this with the kids,,
start by saying to the kids I love you,, then hopefully they say I love you too, then again say I love you three, then they say I love you four,, then go yet I love you MORE>
