I was talking to my hubby earlier and I had mentioned to him that things felt differently at a party we attended for my little niece and nephew. Maybe, it had to do with the fact that my baby sister wasn't there, but, my estranged sister, Cindy and her hubby weren't acting as obnoxious as they usually do.Then again, it could be that they were at their son's house for the party and they know how much my nephew, Mike, loves us.
Anyway, we met Mike's girlfriend, Sandra, and she seems to be a very nice person. Anyway, my hubby told me that he noticed Sandra going into the house for something and up until then, she had been sitting with us and making good conversation. He says he saw my estranged sister, Cindy and her husband going into the house behind her. After Sandra came out of the house, she wasn't sitting next to us, anymore. To my hubby, it seemed as if they had said something to her about us. I wouldn't have cared one way or the other because I wasn't there to see her; I was there to enjoy my family.
What was funny was that George, my hubby, noticed that Sandra came back to sit with us only after George noticed Mike talking to Sandra. George's thinking is that Sandra told Mike what Cindy and her husband had said and Mike set her straight. I don't doubt that Mike told his mother not to be bad mouthing us because we don't go around bad mouthing them.
How did I miss this?? Anyway, in the end, Sandra had to leave before the cake was served and she extended her hand to me and said, "It was very nice meeting you, Janie!". I shook her hand and returned the same sentiment and then she gave me a big hug!!!
Now, we never go to an event with the intent to hurt anyone's feelings or to make anyone think badly of anyone else. That's just the way we are. George tells me that when Sandra hugged me, Cindy had this real sour look on her face. Why??? Because she had tried to turn Sandra against me and she had failed, miserably. One thing I did notice was that Cindy left the party without even saying goodbye to her stepfather, which I thought was very rude!!!
When are they going to realize that bad mouthing us is just making themselves look worse??

I'm sorry that your sister is so unhappy, that she needs to try to turn people against you sweetie. I'm glad you aren't that type of person. In spite of it all, hopefully you really did have a great time.
You know I wouldn't let something like this spoil my evening. We had a blast!!!
Try not to get caught up in the twisted goings on in "Cindy's mind". Sounds like she could use a therapist.
It's safe to say that I wouldn't have even known about this because I was oblivious to it. I was just having myself a great old time and ignoring her.
Another thing is that back in August I wound up in the ER and got admitted into the hospital for pneumonia. Cindy never called or sent a message to me, whatsoever. Recently, Cindy had a severe asthma attack. Now, I don't know if she wound up in the hospital or not, but, the fact that I didn't address her on her health issues may have pissed her off. I wasn't, purposely trying to, though, the way she was towards me.
