I guess you could say designed by Mother Nature, but that would only mean what is is. The question is, if someone concludes that the world must have been designed since it's so orderly (vis. natural laws), would he or she conclude that it wasn't designed things would be chaotic?

A paradox. Nature works naturally, yet we who have developed a wall to keep nature apart (it is in our nature) find miracle in the way nature works.

Interesting questions, Chris. As we are presumably designed to fit the physical universe, of course things seem logical and "normal." And we can't really judge whether this is miraculous or not, as it's the only universe we know.

I would hate to be named as nothing more than a quirk,
but rather the product of a lot of hard work,
Perhaps it is pride, or the beliefs that are mine,
But I think we're all the product of a grander design.

By definition, nothing could be grander than the Universe. It exists; what would be the alternative? It works; if it didn't, that would be truly strange (miraculous). It works the way it does; that would be true no matter how it worked. You are the product of a grand design, but that doesn't necessitate nor imply a designer.

I know it is difficult to prove the existence of the said "Designer", but it is equally difficult to disprove it... Especially to those that need him to be there... Those that had sacrifice everything in the name of piety, charity, and mercy. They would hold tenaciously to their beliefs, because they know that all their suffering will not have been in vain; Because they know that their beloved children, their blind children, their lame children will be reimbursed in that next stage of life... as long as they persevere, as long as they practice their prescriptions of piety, as long as they believe...

Arguments could be made, but I never really make them, because ultimately everyone chooses his own perception of the Grand Design. Be well, my friend.

And if the relationship between a designer and GOD are a requirement, then one may have not considered panentheism.

I just read this. I LOVE it. It's beautiful AND thought provoking. That is what good poems are about. As I grow older, I realize that life is more and more about questions and less and less about absolute answers. It's about the journey, not the destination. Let's all question, and journey on with open minds and hearts. There's lots of questions still to ask, my friends.

Thanks, Barbary. Nature works the way it does because that its nature. That seems a tautology, but if it worked any other way, we'd be wondering why just the same.
