Yet another death in the Hollywood community, Americans were told of the death of Josh Koenig “Boner†on the TV 80’s show, as well as the death of Marie Osmond’s 18 year old son, now we have the death of another 80’s child actor, the Canadian born 80’s actor Corey Haim. Corey was born in Toronto Canada. He was known for his films, “Lucas†and the Lost Boys. He was found “unresponsive in his Oakland apartment and then pronounced dead in a Burbank hospital.
Â
The cause of death is believed to be an accidental drug overdose. What is known so far, according to Sgt William Mann is that Haim had flu like symptoms and was taking both prescription and over the counter drugs. Haim was known to have a drug problem, addicted to crack, alcohol and prescription drugs. He had a drug problem since the age of at least 16.
Â
The life of an actor is not easy, the stress drives many actors to abusing drugs.  The Hollywood lifestyle with its ups and downs can be too much for many people.Â
Â
The common myth is that people will forget their problems by drinking or taking drugs. The truth of the matter is that it only adds to the problems they are experiencing.Â
Â
Recreational drugs can be deadly; even the mixing of medications can be deadly.  If you are a person with a drug problem you need to get help. Don’t be fooled by thinking you are self medicating and that you are doing what you need to do to feel better. Drugs are toxic. You may be feel better for a short time, but you will begin to depend upon the drugs and you need more and more to feel better. In the meantime you are poisoning your body, causing damage to your liver and other organs. Sometimes death is immediate as in the case of an overdose and sometimes it is not.  Over time the damage sustained from drug abuse can be irreparable. Â

His acting was so great. I think I watched every movie he was in growing up.
I've always loved a good film.
And, I really loved the teen movies of the 80's.
