Once again infamous actress and Hollywood party girl Lindsay Lohan is in the headlines, but this time it's over a lawsuit against a business. Lindsay Lohan is reportedly suing eTrade over their cute talking baby commercial. In particular, the Lindsay Lohan etrade lawsuit is over the commercial featuring a milkaholic baby which was named "Lindsay". The ad which aired during the 3rd quarter was considered the 7th best ad of the Superbowl on a USA rankings meter of top 10 Superbowl ads. Lohan is claiming the character in the eTrade baby Superbowl commercial is modeled after her, and she wants $100 million in damages for it.
The Lohan lawsuit against eTrade was filed just yesterday in a Nassau County Superior Court. The ad originally debuted during this past year's Superbowl between the Indianapolis Colts and New Orleans Saints. Lohan's lawyer is claiming that "Lindsay" is a well known one-name famous star, much like Cher, Madonna or Oprah. On those grounds they're basing the lawsuit, and it's keeping the actress in the headlines.
A spokesperson for the ad agency, Grey Group, has claimed they chose the name Lindsay due to someone on their account team having that name. Meanwhile, Lohan's lawyer is saying the eTrade company has profited from the use of the name "Lindsay" since the ad was viewed by millions during the Superbowl. The lawsuit asks for is owed $50 million in exemplary damages, plus another $50 million in compensatory damages. In addition, they want the commercial forced off the air, and all copies of it turned over to them.
