Well, Mike Holmgren’s presence is already being felt in his new role of running things for the Cleveland Browns. His has brought in his favorite backup quarterback to his new team and the rest of the league should be on notice. Not really. I mean Seneca Wallace is still kind of Seneca Wallace after all.
The Seahawks got a draft pick that will be determined on how much Wallace plays next season for the Browns. With the quarterback situation in Cleveland, expect that to be anywhere from one game to the entire season. My guess is the draft pick they acquired will end up being a USC player (just a hunch).
If Holmgren can turn the Browns around in any decent amount of time, they better start naming streets after him in Cleveland just like they did in Green Bay. I somehow doubt the shrewd deal to steal a backup quarterback away from his former team will do it, but Holmgren has a long leash in Cleveland. Considering what he did in Seattle, I have to believe he is going to get something going sooner than later. If the Browns make the playoffs, that probably will be viewed as a monumental success, right?
