Christmas, a tear out pattern section and wonderful ideas are what you will find in CANDY CANE LANE. Even though it is only one quilt, there are other projects using the blocks such as a table runner, a pillow, a week before Christmas wall hanging and, of course, stockings that must be hung before Santa arrives.
Snowmen, Candy Canes, a house, a Christmas stocking, a tree, two snowflakes, flowers, bows, holly and berries, and flowers are the themes of the blocks used to create this Christmas-y quilt. By repeating or adding plain blocks, you can create many more quilts of your own design. For example, if you use the snowmen, stocking and house patterns, you have a new block and can create a quilt from there.
The table runner uses yo-yos for the edging and the tree is decorated with odds and ends of buttons that we all have in our stashes. A very short section discusses basic quilting.
The instructions for each block show the finished size, gives a list of materials needed and how to make the block. All templates needed are on the tear out section so you don’t have to disassemble the book to make the quilt. So get a head start on your Christmas projects for 2010 with CANDY CANE LANE.
