Leno and Palin Stage Yawn-Off On Late Show

After his bigtime bomb in prime time, Jay Leno slunk back to his late night spot on NBC this week and immediately proved that he is still the unfunniest man ever to assume the label of "comedian".  Admittedly, it may be mildly amusing to watch him shuffle back and forth between time slots while making NBC officials cry, but that's not enough incentive to actually watch his pathetic attempts to elicit laughs.  To add to the pain of listening to his irritating voice, last night he showcased Sara Palin who took a shot at standup by delivering a few lame "jokes", obviously written for her by Leno's shoeshine boy.

In a related story, Steve Jobs is expected to release a reverse alarm clock, guaranteed to induce sleep by featuring a continuous loop of the sound track of last night's show.

I don't know why the search things got grouped in numbered sets. They're tabular on the Google screen. It's probably how the direct copy and paste worked in the Gather comment box.

I actually didn't look at the trends for this one. I just noticed on my front page that Palin had done a 2-minute standup on Leno's show, watched the clip and barfed out the 'article'. I'll add the tags now, though...couldn't hurt, I guess.

Once again, I'm pleased that I'm an early-to-bedder. Watching Palin breathe is painful enough for me. Having to listen to her speak again? No, thanks.
The content of the article is good. In some ways Palin and Leno deserve each other. They'd probably make a good family sitcom couple. The bad writers could probably do that show too. :)
I don't know how many more years Leno has left on his contract but I'm beginning to get Milton Berle deja vu.

At least Berle had the grace to stay off the air while his contract expired. Leno is evidently waiting for his audience to expire before he quits.

I really could care less about Palin, but Leno...Leno makes me angry for some reason. The guy is so talentless, yet so extremely wealthy. I saw him featured on some cable show highlighting car collectors. The insane amount of money he spends on cars I think is what does it to me, considering the fact that there are so many people in the world in dire need who he could be helping out a little.

That, and his chin just annoys me.

I'm with you, Sheryl. I get the same reaction from a glimpse of that chin that I did when ol' furrow-brow Dubya made an appearance: a frisson of disgust and a quick click of the "off" button on the remote.

I heard a stat today during a talk on clean water projects in Latin America. A child dies every few secs in the world due to lack of clean water and poor sanitation. Bringing clean water and sanitation to communities costs very, very little. And it is sustainable by the community once the infrastructure is in place. You would think that instead of buying up old heaps of metal and spending millions on shining them up so that you can parade around in those shiny things, jutting out your jaw even further, Mr. Leno would spend his time a little more fruitfully in terms of helping humanity since he has been so lucky as to make millions off of virtually contributing nothing to society.

Just doing a little experiment in antisocial writing, Sue. I don't think it'll last much longer. Boredom is beginning to set in.
Leno's voice doesn't bother me.
Palin's voice, on the other hand, gives me a headache, and it gets worse if I actually listen to what she is saying.
Who watches Leno? Colbert is truly entertaining. Even the 900th rerun of an episode of Robot Chicken is funnier than Jay. Jay is more interesting to listen to when he is talking about cars.
