You know you are too involved in the Olympics when you leave the Men's Curling Final on rather than miss any Olympic news! Plan to do this post and then have a chocolate and maybe a pop to celebrate achieving my 2 goals. Got my shawl all knit and the blocking will wait until next weekend probably. And finished my Beaver who still needs a name (hint! hint!)
Without further ado............
My "Olympic" mittens provide a seat for him. Don't you all want the snow? We got about 4" overnight so a nice setting. This is taken in a corner of our driveway near the house.
In Canada, the Hudsons Bay Company has a very long history for development and exploration and trade that is carried on to this day in a department store something like Macey's. One of the things that symbolizes them are the stripes first used in blankets. As seen, it is also used in sweaters and coats so a good signature for Canada. Seems perfectly logical that Beaver would also have one.
(Sure wish he had a name, hint! hint!)
Because I like the detail to attention as shown in the colours and marking for this, I include the following picture.........
Hope it shows up on your computer monitor but there is a brown and black diamond pattern.
Maybe this closeup will inspire people to provide some names for consideration for him. After the closing ceremonies I'll choose one or come up with one of my own.
Now off to get my chocolates!
