It's a good thing there are enough super models to go around the world since London, Madrid, Lahore (Pakistan), New York, and Bogota all enjoyed Fashion Week for their new fall/winter lines this week.
From Maya Hansen in Madrid, to Mark Fast in London to Anna Sui in New York to Sarah Ariza in Bogota to Nomi Ansar in Lahore, innovative designers showed their stuff in a wide range of styles, from the outlandish to the austere. (Please catch the highlights in the photo show below).
Meanwhile, Los Angeles -- always the rebel, even with regard to when Tinseltown hosts a city-wide event -- doesn't start ramping up the runways until March 17, finishing up March 24.
Visitors to The City of Angels should expect an array of talent all over town, with Gen Art’s avant garde presentation of emerging fashion talent on the edge of downtown at BoxEight Studios to the debut of Beverly Hills Fashion Week at a tented extravaganza at 9900 Wilshire Boulevard in the heart of Beverly Hills.
Fashion Week Los Angeles coincides with Fashion Market Week for the fall/winter season, so visiting fashionistas in the business should schedule their time wisely between March 19 and March 23 so these industry types can be in on both the insider's track and the buying public's new merchandise.
Among Market Week’s activities (open to the trade) are parties, runway events and showroom receptions at the California Market Center, The New Mart, the Cooper Design Space, Gerry Building, and the Lady Liberty Building.
