New! Weight Watchers Smart Ones

Artisan Creations Grilled Flatbread

Yeah, Sassy bought some more frozen entrees.  But these are Weight Watchers, so they've got to be okay, right?  They looked good on the box ... grilled flatbread ... kinda like a grilled pizza, how could I go wrong?

Smart Ones Grilled Flatbreads come in four varieties:

  • Chicken Bruschetta
  • Chicken Marinara with Mozzarella Cheese
  • Savory Steak & Ranch
  • Southwestern Style Chicken Fiesta

The only one I didn't try was the Chicken Bruschetta.  Regular price $3.39, on sale for $2.50 .  They all 'weigh' in at about 300 calories, 25% the daily recommended limit of sodium, about 7 grams of fat, 6 ounces each.

They looked almost as good as the photo on the box, plenty of topping on a nice crisp flatbread.  The taste was acceptable, not great, but not bad either.  There are lots of these type flatbreads in the frozen cases at the grocer, they all seem to be alike to me.  These don't have significantly fewer calories than any other.

On a scale of one to ten, Sassy awards Weight Watchers Smart Ones a 5.  They are just plain okay, and overpriced if they are not on sale.

i guess the price is okay if the average person spends twice that when eating out at work.

It doesn't look too bad but I find WW foods too spicy and not enough meat. They are very overpriced also, like most frozen entrées in the "lean" or calorie conscious category.

I buy Smart Ones when they are on sale to take to work for lunch. I haven't tried these yet.

You can buy pita bread and throw some cheese or other stuff on it too. It's about the same degree of difficulty as making toast. :) Leftover Chinese food is a good topping.
