Some good friends of ours have two daughters, almost 11 and almost 13. They want to have a special birthday party for the 13 year old, becoming a teenager is a big deal!
She's looking for ideas for a 13 year old girl birthday party, any suggestions?
When I turned 13, we just had a bunch of friends over, ate and did what we wanted (under Mom's supervision of course). Mom provided food, cake, and softdrinks, friends brought gifts, and we just enjoyed being together.
My nephew is turning 13 and my sister-in-law was trying to come up with ideas too. I think she was going to let do something with his friends on Saturday and then Sunday after church have a big family dinner...though I'm not sure what her final decision was.
Let her walk around the mall with a few close friends all by herself. I was allowed to do this when I turned 13 and I was thrilled! My parents even gave me some money to pick out my own present-very cool.
Our friends let the girls go shopping on their own at the Mall with their gc's which was a big hit with everyone - bowling was another - pool party with friends the next. Family dinner is cool - but you gotta let them taste a little independence on their day of coming of age - teen age that is.
