Matthew 22
1 And Jesus answered and spake again in parables unto them, saying,
2 The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a certain king, who made a marriage feast for his son,
Our Father in Heaven will hold a wedding feast after his son Jesus returns to the earth, in the sky to claim his bride, those who believe he is their savior...
3 and sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the marriage feast: and they would not come.
God sends his people everywhere around the globe trying to reach everyone to open up their hearts, accept Jesus as their savior and rise with Jesus leaving this world behind to become his bride, his beloved.. many who were first to be invited did not decide to go, they did not heed God's call
4 Again he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them that are bidden, Behold, I have made ready my dinner; my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come to the marriage feast.
5 But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his own farm, another to his merchandise;
Those who were invited ignored the invitation to accept Jesus, many of whom others would have expected to believe in him... they allowed their "world" to be more important than God's invitation...
6 and the rest laid hold on his servants, and treated them shamefully, and killed them.
Many who believe in Jesus and try to reach others are/were rejected, poorly treated and killed.
7 But the king was wroth; and he sent his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned their city.
8 Then saith he to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they that were bidden were not worthy.
Those who were called to believe in Jesus decided not to embrace his gift of salvation and were more concerned with their daily lives than becoming believers and ambassadors for Christ.
9 Go ye therefore unto the partings of the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage feast.
God sends his people everywhere, everywhere... in the prisons, in the richest of places and the poorest of neighborhood. (Corrie ten Boon who wrote "The Hiding Place" spent time in a concentration camp reaching out with her sister to the other woman there. Her families "crime" of helping Jewish people hide/escape from the Nazis, brought her to Hell on earth where her love for Jesus brought comfort and hope to those around her)
10 And those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was filled with guests.
God sends his believers out to the streets to reach people whether they were living good lives or living bad ones. Jesus came for the sinners so they could repent, be forgiven and go on a new path with him. The love of God and the forgiveness of sins available to us all through the gift that Jesus provided everyone when he died on the cross to give everyone a way for reconciliation and a relationship with God...and the gift of going to the wedding after resurrection, with Jesus to spend eternity with him in perfect bodies in paradise.
11 But when the king came in to behold the guests, he saw there a man who had not on a wedding-garment:
12 and he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding-garment? And he was speechless.
13 Then the king said to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and cast him out into the outer darkness; there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth.
14 For many are called, but few chosen.
When we accept Jesus as our savior we are washed clean of our sins by his blood. If we don't accept him as our Savior, we are not washed clean of our sin and we cannot enter eternity with him.
Revelations 7:And I say unto him, My lord, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they that come of the great tribulation, and they washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

Many people attend church because they were taught to go by their parents. They do it out of duty, or to please their families. Many people do not believe but they do their duty to go through the motions of being a "Christian". Sometimes the very people who lead them have no belief or relationship with Jesus either. They may have many reasons to chose the vocation of being a shepherd to a flock, and sometimes Jesus is not one of them. Many families are so proud of those who chose the life of a church leader.
It is sad when people really don't believe and just go through the motions. I know someone who pinned Catholic medals to her children's diapers, just in case God was real. She did what many mothers do/did and took her children to Mass and by all appearances believed but she shared with me she did many things "just in case."
It is really sad when people see going through the motions "just in case" don't realize that God knows their hearts.
Matthew 15:8 This people honoreth me with their lips; But their heart is far from me.
We can from the outside appear to believe, but we can't fool God. He knows us so well, even the count of our hair...
Luke 12:7 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not: ye are of more value than many sparrows.
He surely knows our hearts.
John 3 16For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
If you don't have a personal relationship with Jesus and you haven't accepted his gift of salvation, no matter what good deeds you do...no matter how good you are to others...no matter how many medals you have for attending church every Sunday, you won't get into Heaven, you are not saved. Only Jesus can save you, you can't save yourself, nor can anyone else save you. They may think they can, but only going directly to Jesus and accepting him as your Lord and Savior, will you be saved. He died to pay for our sins. He rose and walked the earth for 40 days before ascending into Heaven to show that he defeated Satan and defeated death. Only through him can we enjoy the spoils of his victory and have life eternal with him in Heaven.
John 3:15 that whosoever believeth may in him have eternal life.
He came to help us live better lives. He knew we couldn't be good enough or earn our own salvation. We don't have to do this life alone, once we go to him, he is always there. He sends us the Holy Spirit, the comforter to teach us, guide us, and help us.
John 15 26 But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall bear witness of me:
Life is short, in a flash it will be over. Don't miss out on eternity, go to Jesus and begin a new life with a relationship with him.
John 14 2 In my Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I come again, and will receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
Right now Jesus is preparing a place for us in Heaven...
Revelation 21:3 And I heard a great voice out of the throne saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he shall dwell with them, and they shall be his peoples, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God:
4 and he shall wipe away every tear from their eyes; and death shall be no more; neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain, any more: the first things are passed away.
5 And he that sitteth on the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he saith, Write: for these words are faithful and true.
6 And he said unto me, They are come to pass. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.
7 He that overcometh shall inherit these things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
8 But for the fearful, and unbelieving, and abominable, and murderers, and fornicators, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, their part shall be in the lake that burneth with fire and brimstone; which is the second death.
This scripture reveals to us a glimpse of Heaven - "and he shall wipe away every tear from their eyes; and death shall be no more; neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain"
Can you just imagine? A place where there is no death, no sadness, no pain-Heaven sounds awesome to me.
Through the love of the Lord, his gift of salvation, and the mercy he bestows on us we can live in eternity and in the most wonderful place that ever existed.
