Snooki Trademarks Her Name

Yes, Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi is trademarking her name, just like her fellow castmates "The Situation" and "Paulie D" from the oft-discussed and more-often-hated Jersey Shore.

In less than a week, the three of them have attempted to score a trademark on their nicknames, filing applications with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in hopes to cash from their collective 15 minutes of fame.

And what's the purpose of the trademarking, besides sheer ridiculousness? Well, it seems that The Situation wants his nickname for use on clothing -- especially underwear (of course). Snooki wants to use the trademark for entertainment purposes and "printed matter, namely books," (ha!), and Pauly D wants to the trademark for DJ services.
