The American Idol judges have narrowed the field of prospective talent down for the upcoming 9th season. So far just seven contestants have been named to the American Idol Top 24 Season 9 finalists. They are: Didi Benami, Lee DeWyze, Katelyn Epperly, Todrick Hall, Casey James, Aaron Kelly and Michael Lynche. America will have to wait a day or so to find out the rest of the field.
Contestant Michael Lynche will move forward despite the potential he could be kicked off due to his father speaking to the press which is against the rules. However, the judges were impressed by Lynche's talents enough to pass him through to the next round. Lynche can play guitar and sing, making him quite the musical superstar.
Todrick Hall is a friend of former Idol winner, Fantasia who has worked with her previously. Hall has noted that he's more of a dancer so he's shocked to even be competing with the rest of the Idol hopefuls. There's also the dark horse, Lee Dewyze, a guitar-playing balladeer who wants to do good things with music. Does he have what it takes? He'll have to beat out 23 other finalists.

Other contestants include Des Moines student Kately Epperly, the bad boy with a murky past-Casey James, and the 16-year-old high schooler, Aaron Kelly. Kelly's been described as the "country version of David Archuletta". So who else will make the cut? The rest of the American Idol Top 24 season 9 finalists get revealed on Wednesday, February 17th's show.
