I found the perfect distraction for my cat, who I of course do not let outside. I feed the birds. With all the snow we've had, last time I was at the store I grabbed a bag of wild bird seed and started putting it out, I took the containers in last night in case we got snow and it got buried, they were looking for their food today......but it went back out first thing this morning.
My 'bird feeders' are nothing more than old cheese and dip containers, yes I intend to get a bird feeder, its just I had to make due with what I had on hand, and I've been throwing it on top of the snow as well for them so they don't fight over the food......which is working out better because I've had robins, mourning doves, as well as cardinals, sparrows and other little birds.
My poor cat was just attacking the sliding door today because there was about a dozen birds out there and she just couldn't get to them....nor will I let her....
So here are a few shots of the birds that were driving my cat NUTS!
