You've got to love Joe Biden. I watched Meet the Press this morning just to hear Joe Biden speak. He never fails to say some gaff, and this morning was no different.
When asked about mirandizing terrorists, Joe defended the decision. He went on to say that we look good in the world's eye if we are fair and treat terrorist fairly. Then, he went on to say that we're going to find him guilty anyway, and he will be executed.
How fair is that? Of course this is not a direct quote, but it is a paraphrase of the gaff.
The Christmas Day bomber was talking as his underpants smoldered, but the Obama administration, always concerned with appearances, gave this terrorist his miranda rights and a lawyer, so he stopped talking.
Nice.
My sentiment: Now, for appearance we pardon the turkey for Thanksgiving but cook him for Christmas.
Thanks, Joe Biden for today's gaff of the day.

Seems like almost everyone at the top agrees these guys aren't going free (in order to allay the fears of the public at large), it's okay to try them in civilian court, making it look as if they were getting a fair trial. And now we can add the Vice President to those who agree a kangaroo trial is the way to go.
But how ever the actual court case goes - because it seems the outcome has already been determined, the "defendents" are not really getting a fair trial.
Personally, if we are actually going to go through with this farce of a trial for these people ... we can at least agree to abide by the actual rule of law and let the jury decide their fate come what may.
If we are not going to do that, I don't see the point of trying them in a civilian court other than for show (show of what? the rule of law? not likely.).
