Taxi Drivers, Good vs. Bad

Today we took Kyleigh to the zoo. We took the metro most of the way but we had to take a taxi to the metro station first. The driver told us that we had to pay NT$20 extra on top of the meter price. We probably could have refused to pay but my mom didn't want to get in an argument when Kyleigh was there.

In contrast, we got on a great taxi cab on the way home. The driver kept the car very clean, and he helped me putting the stroller in the trunk. We wanted to give him extra NT$20 and he wouldn't even accept it.

Too bad there's no way to flag the taxi drivers' quality before we get in the car.

What is up with that. What is NT I don't use taxis.

Interesting. In many cities in the US they post numbers to call and report inappropriate behavior on the part of the taxi driver.

John - They have that in Taiwan too but I didn't have a pen and paper handy and my mom just wanted to leave, so I couldn't take down the license plate or the driver's ID etc.

NTD means New Taiwanese Dollar. It's the Taiwanese currency.
