Los Angeles Lakers Kobe Bryant and 76ers Allen Iverson will be sitting this years NBA All Star Game out. Kobe missed the last three games due to an ankle injury and Allen Iverson missed the last five games due to his sick child.
Golden State's Monta Ellis would have been Bryant's replacement but he has a knee injury that occurred at Tuesday's game against the Clippers. Instead, NBA commisioner David Stern, chose Jason Kidd of the Dallas Mavericks. Kidd ranks fifth in the NBA league with 9.3 assists per game. This will be his tenth All Star appearance.
New York Knicks David Lee averaging 20 points and 11.4 rebounds will be replacing Iverson over Andrew Bogut.
Also Denver's Chauncey Billups will be replacing New Orleans Chris Paul due to a knee injury, and L.A Clippers Chris Kaman will be replacing Portland's Brandon Roy due to an injured hamstring.
