Former President Bill Clinton was hospitalized in New York today with chest pains according to a White House official.Â Bill Clinton's history of heart problems goes back to 2004 when he had a successful quadruple bypass operation.
According to the New York Times, counselor to Bill Clinton, Douglas Band stated, "Today President Bill Clinton was admitted to the Columbia Campus of New York Presbyterian Hospital after feeling discomfort in his chest. Following a visit to his cardiologist, he underwent a procedure to place two stents in one of his coronary arteries. President Clinton is in good spirits, and will continue to focus on the work of his Foundation and Haitiâ€™s relief and long-term recovery efforts. In 2004, President Clinton underwent a successful quadruple bypass operation to free four blocked arteries.â€
Despite his heart troubles, Bill Clinton has devoted a great deal of time recently to the Haiti relief efforts.Â We all hope Bill Clinton will have a speedy recovery to get back to his charitable work.
