New Moon - movie review

I was avid against the twilight series. There was just far to much hype about it for me and I did not want to jump on the "most popular thing of the day" bandwagon. The night I actually caught part of twilight, thanks to my daughter, I was hooked and decided I needed to read all the books and watch all the movies so you can imagine how much I want to see the next movie Eclipse.

In new moon my favorite character is back. Jacob black and boy is he buff. I have to admit I was sad when his hair disappeared but still, the boy is beautiful and I was happy he got more screen time in this one. I like Edward well enough but Jacob is just as beautiful as Edward. I really enjoyed the way the movie portrayed Bellas depression months, before her brilliant idea of danger to hear her precious Edward again.

I get that Jacob is naturally against Edward and his kind but watching him go from gentle to angry and high strung really bugged me. The fact that it bugged me means it was actually believable in the movie. I really enjoyed how the wolves were portrayed as well. Just the sheer size of them was wonderful. Watching Jacobs need to tell Bella what was going on with him and his actual physical inability to do so and Bellas need to have her best friend back and watching them come so close to kissing and the disappointment when they don't was also a bit frustrating, so also believable.

Seeing the rest of the wolves made me want to check the actors to see if their back round actually held some native american in it like Jacob Blacks, Taylor Lautner does. I just like seeing native americans in films that claim to have them in it. Its a personal thing!

The entrance of the Vultourie was wonderful. I was very happy to see that I did not know all of the actors though I could have sworn the blond man was in another vampire movie. Watching Jacobs pain each time Bella left to be back with Edward was difficult. I was glad that the acting was so believable but that could have partially been because I read the book before seeing the movie and there was some transfer.

The scenery, make up and scenes are rich and vibrant and there is allot more character in the characters. It was fun watching the wolves chase Laraunt and Victoria but during the Victoria chases I became frustrated she seemed one step ahead. The conclusion to that is yet another tidbit awaiting the next movie.

I loved the ending where Bella said they could not hurt each other without hurting her and am looking forward to all the different elements that will be in the next movie. Action Action Action. Don't get me wrong, I am a typical girl that likes a great romance but its even great when the movie can have all the elements I am looking for, action, romance and believable acting.
