I am looking for "active" authors in the Gather community. I am wanting to spotlight authors in the Friday edition of Today On Gather. These authors do not have to be published. However the published authors will have more information added to their profile.
If you are an author or you know an author, please add a link to their profile page below in the comment area. Answer the following questions that are relevant to this author if possible. Please add a link to the profile page of the author because it is very difficult for me to find them without your help.
1. Are you an author?
2. Do you know an author on gather
3. Is this author published?
4. Does this author write amazing poetry but just in the Gather community?
5. What are some of the books that are published by this author?
6. Are there any book reviews already posted about this authors books on gather?
7. If the answer to number 6 is "yes" could you please add a link to the book review.
8. Any other information that you think is relevant to the authors spotlight?
I know there are many authors on Gather who are not published but do an amazing job of writing short stories and poetry. I want to spotlight them as well.
Please remember to check out the Friday edition of Today On Gather for the spotlight of Gather's authors.

No, I'm pretty dull. As for Terry, He writes many wonderful political articles, as well as being the author/blogger of The Shagmar Report.
This is a great idea and it looks like you have many authors to include in your Friday post. I looked through the list and didn't see (sorry if they are in the comments above and I just missed them):
R.L. Edinger ~ click here to go to his Gather page.
Roger Kiser ~ click here to go to his Gather page.
Marie Pinschmidt ~ click here to go to her Gather page.
In addition to those wonderful authors already mentioned these three are active Gather members and great writers. I'm looking forward to seeing the post with all the authors listed. It will be a great reference tool, as I am trying to get book by Gather authors and do reviews on them.
Thanks, again, for all you do.
I have been published in the past but only in small local newspapers and such.
I have received nice comments on some of my stuff on here.

I use to converse with you a long time ago and liked all the things you were doing to help all us Gather chatters. This sounds like a real good idea and if this old man can remember long enough, would enjoy being interviewed by you. Let's see now, I forgot that long list I read over and over while getting to the bottom of your comments.
Gather has me listed as Recoveryman and we use to work on Disaster Problems because this has been my reason for chatting with people. I slowed up on Gather because too many people were interested in points than trying to help people live better. I never tried to get points so not even sure if I got any.
I am Gordon Swanson with an L between that is not on my books. I wrote and had published two non-fiction books. My first was "Soldier Pigs/ When Soldiers Are Guinea Pigs", that was about all the torture I went through in a secret army assignment as a Guinea Pig used to test all over the world what ever the army was considering buying. It was Published by Brandylane as a full color hard back in late 2006.
My second book came along about the same time because I wanted to manage the recovery of the people at Katrina, and contacted everyone of our leaders without a reply. All I wanted was someone to put me up and give me people to work with and I would provide my heavy talent for free. Seems every government official just wanted to get the business money from Fema and didn't care about the people. I couldn't give up so I wrote the book, :Hurricane Recovery/ The Peoples' Village plan" in a easy read manual for the people to read, join others, and talk the administration into preparing a Portable Village for future survivors of disasters. I also have tried to get building codes redone to permit building building that will stay up and never fall down when a storm hits. I want to stop the build/rebuild construction the building unions and others are forcing on the people.
My Gather Site is Recoveryman, with a pig picture or me giving a lecture on recovery, for free. Name again is Gordon Swanson, and web site is "gswansonbooks.com".
Let me know if you read this or I may give you a shorter note next time.
Gordon Swanson, Recovery Man
Part two is now spotlighted as well on my profile page.

I am a freelance writer. I've kept it pretty quiet on Gather until the past few months as this was my "escape". Now I realize I need to promote myself, too :)
I was first published in Stone Soup, a magazine for children, when I was 8 years old (It was a book review and I've done a few book reviews since for my favorite Gather authors including Renita Perrone, Selene Skye Deme and Mariana Titus). My most recent magazine publication was a piece about an artist featured at the Jacob Javits center in NYC in the "Naturist". I published four ebooks as a ghostwriter, including one that received kudos from Robert Rister (about skin care).
I ghostwrite and do technical writing for the spa, medical and legal industries including several instructional manuals for an online spa school, an educational handout for school administrators about MRSA distributed across the nation and countless legal articles for industry leaders such as Lexington Law.
For the past three years, I ghostwrite for a leading international resort and write blogs, press releases, etc. I designed several fashion websites and wrote all the content for them. I am a regular blogger posting frequently on Gather, five of my own blogs, Associated Content, Red Gage, ePinions and more. I am also a blogger for hire about topics ranging from celebrities to plastic surgery to home decor. I am an ongoing blogger and writer for an international leather designer on the catwalks and did a brief blogging gig for Howard Stern's peeps a few years ago. I write collaboratively for two leading financial blogs on the Internet under my name. I am happy to provide links.
Finally, I was a performance poet in the 1990s at venues including Barnes and Noble in NYC, the Westhampton Beach Public Library in the Hamptons and the renowned Kitchen Kabaret.
Most of what I do now is SEO and promotional writing although I still want to put together a book of poetry. I would be pleased to chat about freelance writing opportunities, search engine potential and maximizing exposure and revenues. I look forward to chats from other authors about learning more about how to publish my OWN book.
Do you know an author on Gather?
Several of the ones mentioned above and more - great talent! I did an article in October entitled Calling All Gather Authors and Their Fans. Some I did not yet see mentioned include Rhetta Akamatsu, Clifford Neal, Bethann Korsmit, Rodney Barnes and Joseph Breunig. I am sure I am forgetting a few! Also worth mentioning are the photography talents of Rose H. and Arleen Hodge that belong in books...and the poetry of Jennifer Lee. I think Kathryn E. was mentioned, she is an amazing author...let me know if you need links :)
Here's a few names that don't seem to be included yet:

Sarah Honenberger
I'm sure there must be lots more.

I am a published author. My non fiction book is titled Voodoo and Afro-Caribbean Paganism and was published by Kensington. I also write poetry that can only be found on Gather :)
BTW my novels are about social injustices. Sometimes, I'm even pro-feminist.
But never mind that.
I wish all the lauded writers at Gather great successes.
I'll let the market place speak for me.
I also love William Dotani and John Beck for poetry and humorous prose.
Sheila H seems to have found a new niche with her satirical news reports.
Lynn A writes some amazing poetry too.
Sheila Deeth is a published author and has several works in progress.
Maria is also an accomplished writer. Both Sheila and Maria are amazing at character and plot development.
Terry writes sensual poetry.
