Tonight, Ringo Starr (CLICK VIDEO HERE) (CLICK PHOTOS HERE) was given his very own star on the famed Hollywood Walk of Fame. This former Beatles drummer is the 2,401st name to grace the famous sidewalks, his located outside the landmark Capitol Records building at 1750 N. Vine Street.
This arena near Hollywood Boulevard is appropriate since Ringo and the other Beatles recorded many of their songs at Capital records, as a group and as individuals. In fact, Ringo’s 1974 hit ‘Only You’ was filmed on the rooftop of this famous building that resembles a stack of records.
Nearby Ringo's new star, his Beatles mates John Lennon and George Harrison each command their own sidewalk plaques featuring bronze, five-pointed stars. Meanwhile, Paul McCartney has long been approved for one of his own, so a date for this Mop Top's ceremony should be forthcoming. Finally, all four Beatles have a Hollywood star as a group. Located at 7060 Hollywood Boulevard, this commemorative plaque was awarded to the Fab Four in 1988.
Tonight, Ringo Starr was on hand for the official unveiling which started in Hollywood at 7 p.m. The timing was perfect for the famous performer who just released his highly regarded album 'Y Not' last month.
