Eh, not much to plan. Getting a little group of people and going up to the JP, just like my mom and daddy did. Cant afford a big one, but that's ok, all that matters is our Vows. And hopefully my brother walking me down the isle.

Krystal. If you want an inexpensive reception, just talk to Walker and I. We've got frugal ideas coming out of ir @$$es, since we had two very inexpensive receptions for our weddings. :)

Congratulations, Krystal!!!! That is awsome!!!!! As for weddings and engagements, they come in all different shapes and sizes, matching names and different ones, and whatnot. Whatever works for you and Greg, go for it!! Please keep us posted as you get to know the details. I'm so happy for you.

I cant wait to have his name. It makes me feel awkward for him and my kids to have a different last name than me. Kind of like an outsider....

I wonder how many time's I'll slip and say my maiden name once we marry, lol.

Why not be Krystal Harwell Burgin, with Harwell as a middle name, or second middle name, if you wish to keep the middle name you already have? That way if you slip, it'll still be there legally.

When I wanted to be Leah Christensen (Mom's maiden name) I thought of dropping Dad's last name of Allan, but then realized, no matter how I feel about an outdated tradition, I am still as much an Allan as I am a Christensen, so I kept it as a second middle name, not wanting to drop my original middle name, thus giving me the option to use Allan Chrisensen as a last name, where convenient, or even Allan-Christensen, which is the name under which I have my book published.

You could be:

Burgin
Harwell-Burgin
Harwell Burgin (double last name, no hyphen)
Harwell Burgin (Harwell as middle name, Burgin as last name)

When I changed my name in 2001, I did enough research to write a rather thick book. LOL There are zillions of options open to married ladies, and married men too. Walker thought of taking my name, but no one in my family has the same last name anyway (long long story!!!!), so two people with the same last name would actually seem a little strange! hahaha Also, though flattered, I wasn't going to expect him to do something I was so opposed to doing myself.

Right on about the size of the ring not mattering. Walker and I were a little strapped for cash when we eloped in Arizona, so we got my engagement ring ULTRA CHEAP on bidz.com The wonderful thing is that it exceeded our wildest expectations when it finally arrived, but even if it was a glass bead on a piece of bent wire, I'd still love it. :)

That's right. because you still have love and that's beautiful. You know how many people I know with big expensive rocks and the diamonds fell out or how many women have taken it off to wash dishes and lost it. Anything could happen to a ring but the love last longer.

And then there are those with big expensive rocks, and the marriage falls apart!!! Better a tiny rock and a big marriage, than the other way around. :)
