Taylor Swift's Grammy controversy just keeps growing. First, people thought that Stevie Nicks made a mistake backing up someone like Taylor Swift. Second, people thought that Taylor Swift was off key and it hurt to listen to.
The CEO of Taylor Swit's record lable, Scott Borchetta added fuel to the fire when he said Taylor Swift “is the voice of this generation. She speaks directly to [her fans], and they speak directly back to her. This is not ‘American Idol.’ This is not a competition of getting up and seeing who can sing the highest note. This is about a true artist and writer and communicator.”
American Idol star Kelly Clarkson took the comments about American Idol personally, and added fuel to the Taylor Swift Grammy controversy fire by writing
“We not only hit the high notes, you forgot to mention we generally hit the ‘right’ notes as well,” one “should take a lesson from these people (Kelly’s label executives who after a shaky performance encourage her by saying she will kick butt next time) and instead of lashing out at other artists (that in your ‘humble’ opinion lack true artistry) you should simply take a breath and realize that sometimes things won’t go according to plan or work out and that’s okay.”
