Joseph (2000a, 2009a) has also ridiculed the "life-began-on-Earth" theory of abiogenesis, calling it "religion masquerading as science" and points out there is absolutely no evidence to support the abiogenesis hypothesis. Life has never been created from non-life despite repeated attempts by creation scientists to intelligently design life in a laboratory.
Proponents have defended abiogenesis and the embarrassing lack of supportive evidence by claiming that "absence of evidence is not evidence of absence." However, "the absence of evidence" means there is no evidence. Without evidence there are no facts. Belief in abiogenesis, in the absence of evidence and in the absence of facts, is not science. Its magical thinking. Belief in abiogenesis is based on "faith," which is the domain of religion...
Just as an apple seed contains the genetic instructions for growing an apple tree, the "genetic seeds of life" which rained down upon Earth, contained the genetic instructions for the tree of life, and for every life form which has evolved on this planet; a view completely contrary to Darwinism and abiogenesis.
Darwinism and the abiogenesis hypothesis are intrinsically linked. The Darwinian-abiogenesis consensus is that an accident of chance resulted in the creation of a single life form and this is how life on Earth began and evolved: "all life on Earth, from bacteria to sequoia trees to humans, evolved from a single ancestral cell" (Eighth Conference on the Origins of Life, Berkeley, California, 1984).
The Darwinian-abiogenic hypothesis is that all the branches and twigs of the tree of life trace their roots to a single organism that emerged by a miracle of chance from the mixing of this organic soup. Through unknown mechanisms, this first single living cell was blessed with DNA and the ability to replicate and create variable copies of itself and its genome. Through Darwinian mechanisms of natural selection, this chance event, where life emerged from non-life, gave rise to every creature on this planet including humans; a story reminiscent of the Biblical story of Genesis, where life emerges from Earth and becomes progressively complex culminating in woman and man.
Joseph (2000a, 2009b) has detailed numerous flaws in the Darwinian conception of evolution, pointing out that Darwinism is not supported by genetics or the fossil record. Darwin (1859, 1871), for example, claimed evolution took place by tiny steps, whereas the fossil record indicates long periods of stasis followed by quantum evolutionary leaps (Gould, 2002; Hoyle and Wickramasinghe 1984, 2000).

THIS IS A TOPIC THAT NEEDS TO BE DEEPLY EXPLORED.
With you I know I am only ranting with the choir. WE both know that the issues of Natural Law, Human Nature, Evolution, and LIFE Processes go deeply and nescessarily into how we organize and run our EARTH -- scientifically and politically and economically. Along with one of my favorite Einstein quotes "GOD doesn't play dice." I now have a comment and another (near) quote. The comment is that GOD may be a Probabilist as well as a Statistician. The new quote is lifted from a book by Ken Wilber and the text doesn't permit me to claim that this is direct Einstein quote. The author is not clear on the point as I read the Einstein chapters. bt perhaps is so.
The Wilber book is titled QUANTUM QUESTIONS and states that the book is about the Mystical Writings of the World's great physicists : Heisenberg, Schroedinger, Einstein, De Broglie, Jeans, Planck. Pauli and Eddington. The Einstein quote therein is : "Science without Religion is lame; and Religion without Science is blind," [p.109]
I have been leaning into (hopefully) a A DEEPENING GRASP OF A MORE SOPHISTICATED SET OF IDEAS ABOUT "INTELLIGENT DESIGN" and have been reading materials about Mysticism experiences and Mystics in Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. What is showing up for me is a growing insight of parallelisms between the scientifically allied questionable adequacy of notions of positivism and reductionism (physics) and syntheism (molecular biology) and scripture (religions). Curiously the GREEK masters [pre-Socratics, Platonists and Aristotle, and Stoics (especially Cicero) can be easily aligned with notons of the need for aa deep underestanding of spiritual (Human Nature ideas) and political/social/economic Human needs (HUMAN LAW ISSUES) rather quickly and easily. Scripture deriving from the sacred books READ WITH THE ENLIGHTENED BACKGOUNDS of both science and religion give vast NEW meanings to that which should be 'institutionalized' by the nations of EARTH. Our organizations in our nations should be redesigned somewhat certainly.
I'm happy to see these contributions of yours being placed into the growing prominant places of this evolving NEW perspective that has promise to EVOLUTIONIZE our too diverse notions of what should characterize NEW and CREATIVE VISIONS for our presently very troubled EARTH. WE ALL need new ways to think, feel and pray for wisdom that will bring Peace and Tranquility -- and yes FAITH and LOVE.
Thanks old friend,
Dick
The development of modern materialistic thought came at the cost of losing the ability to use the faculties of the mind that previous civilizations understood and cultivated. There is no opposition between science and religion in their original sense. However, contemporary religions have become dogmatic and forgot the practical wisdom their teachings contained; contemporary science has not begun to understand the normal intellectual, psychic and supersensible faculties of human consciousness and how they are developed. The challenge is to educate contemporary humans to develop all their faculties in an organic, harmonious and disciplined way. Erich Fromm, the psychoanalyst and social thinker described the state of civilization in his Anatomy of Human Destructiveness (1973). Many years before he perceptively remarked, "The problem of the 19th century was that God is dead. The problem of the 20th century is that Man is dead."
