My husband and I have been married for over 31 years. People said we would never last but we fooled them all. He has stuck my my side though all my health problems (which has been many). He is my best friend. Nothing seems real until I have discussed it with him.

Johnny cash and June Carter Cash. His wife died with him holding her hand in the hospital, he then died a few short months after her. They were married for more then thirty years. I highly recommend seeing the music video for "Hurt" song by Johnny Cash. It actually shows his wife, as well as flashes of his history. He died soon after this music video was put into public view, so sad.

I would also like to add my parents who have been married for forty years as of two months ago! They met when they were seventeen and eighteen, and married after one month of knowing each other. They have had five children together, and have seen twelve grandchildren.
Recently my father went back to work after being retired from his career job for two years, so my mother could have free insurance again. She desperately needed to go to the hospital for a cat scan. Fortunately, the lump hasn't grown so all is well. This just shows that my father would do anything for my mother. Their love is truly pure.

Do movies count? If so I would have to say the couple in "The Notebook", I mean the fact that he waited for her all those years, then stayed with her in the nursing home (when he didn't need to be placed in one), and then the fact that they died together in the bed at night!!! Thats love!
