Apple news today - Apple press conference for Steve Jobs announcement

In Apple news today, an Apple press conference will be held for a major Steve Jobs announcement.  The Apple press conference will be held at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Theater in San Francisco.  Early reports have indicated that Apple will roll out a new tablet style multimedia computer with a touchscreen.  The tablet will allow the user to watch movies, listen to music, read digital media books, and surf the internet using the 10" touch screen.

Apple already has a bevvy of successful flat products such as the iPhone, iPod Touch and its recently unveiled iMac computer which is basically a monitor with a keyboard attached.  The new tablet would be a further extension of these concepts and yet another step into the future of computing for Apple.

Recent reports also have shown that Apple stock remains an attractive buy based on the company's ability to increase cash and investment accounts by 39% over last quarter.  The stock (ticker: AAPL) is currently priced around $203.52, yet it was selling for as low as $5 several years ago prior to the iPod and iPhone hysteria.
