Augusta, GA Proposes All-White Basketball League

Leave it to Augusta, Georgia to come up with such an idea of creating a basketball league in the major southern cities of the United States where only natural born United States citizens and players, whose parents are both Caucasian, can join the league and announce its creation the day after Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

The All-American Basketball Alliance, headed by league commissioner Don “Moose” Lewis, feels that "white basketball players" are essentially shutout of conventional professional basketball due to the growth of non-organized play on the court. Lewis also feels the fundamentally sound white players are a vanishing species, as some players on professional teams are carrying guns and attacking fans. Yes, folks, he actually said that out loud...

I guess this is part of the “post-racial” world we allegedly live in…

Blew my mind when I heard it, but really not surprised considering the town it originated from. I affectionately call it "Disgusta, Georgia". My apologies to anyone who hails from the city, but there's really not many positive things one can say about it. It's has trees...other than that, I got nothin'.

Well, It can't be all bad. They let Tiger Woods play in the Masters there, lol.

It took 41 years for that to happen and keep in mind Tiger brought a lot of revenue into the PGA. It was more of a business decision than a moral one.

I guess they believe the joke that NBA stands for Nothing But Africans.

But seriously: Do they actually think the owners and coaches are choosing the players by race? They are going for the best players of whom are overwhelming black. Basketball is BIG in the black community.

Apparently, some really think they are choosing players by their race and the twisted mentality of racism that is controlling their line of thought is leading them to feel that there's a consipracy afoot to eridicate White players from the game. There's gotta be some sort of medication available for that...

Yes, very true and it's also the home of Louis R. Andrews, who is a publisher who runs following in the footsteps of racist publisher William H. Regnery who runs Washington Summit Publishers through his company, L.R. Andrews, Inc. (www.lrainc.com), that prints material on eugenics and reprints on matters regarding race and intelligence as well as being the managing editor of Regnery's racist The Occidental Quarterly.

Can't forget to mention Georgia Legislator Sue Burmeister (R-Augusta) and home of the Masters golf tournament where Blacks weren't allowed to play for over 41 years.

Since Larry Byrd retired, I don't think there are enough decent Caucasian players to make a team, let alone a league...

They're out there, Donna! But unfortunately, and as Nyota mentioned, for many young urban Black males, this is often thier only chance to rise above their circumstances and are attacted to the sport to get higher education of go on to "the show".
Since basketball became a full on contact sport I haven't had much interest in it but Lewis sounds nuts to me.
