Jeff Gaspin and Angela Bromstead, bosses at NBC confirmed Jay Leno will no longer be aired starting Feb. 12. Talks are being conducted about pushing Leno to a shorter and later time, 11:35 p.m. followed by Conan O’Brien at 12:05 a.m. and Jimmy Fallon at 1:05 a.m., this deal, not set in stone yet.
E! Online reported today, NBC’s Executive Session Liveblog. Gaspin had a question and anwer session with reporters about the Jay Leno Show changes.Â
Gaspin was also asked about the 10 p.m. slot and what show would fill in. Gaspin says,
"I did think about where this might net and my guess is that this will net two more hours of scripted TV and one more hour of reality," plus what he calls "backfill," meaning repeats and/or miscellaneous episodes of Dateline NBC.
Gaspin continued to explain that the 10 p.m. slot was not the best time for Leno because there were too many other choices for viewers at the same time.
Gaspin would not state the reactions of Jay, Conan and Jimmy about the arrangement at this time.
