Daily Whine & Shine - Friday, January 8, 2009

Whether you agree with the concept or not, everyone needs to be able to vent from time to time. That's especially true if you're one of the many who suffer from an invisible illness. We have whines and rants about pains, medical professionals and prescriptions, just to name a few. Perhaps our families listen; perhaps they don't. Even if they do, they get tired of our complaining, even if they claim to understand our struggles. Or if they don't get tired of our "negative energy" we think they do or will.
Do you need to rant about something? Tell it here!
Do you have a celebration or victory to share? This is the place.
What's happening in your world today? Are you grumpy about something? Or so angry you could spit? Tell it here. Here at the Daily Whine & Shine, it's acceptable to rant, vent, complain, stomp your feet, throw a tantrum, and shout, "Oh shuckie darn!"
Wait! Don't go away! Do you have some good news to share? Great. This is the place for that as well. If you're celebrating, dancing, and yelling, "Yippee Skippy!"please share. Sometimes knowing about someone else's happiness gives us a bit of hope for ourselves.
Whether you're shouting, "Oh shuckie darn!" or yelling, "Yippee skippy!"- this is the place to be. Pull up a rocking chair, and let's talk about it.
Now, let's celebrate!!!

Food for thought:
A good resolution is like an old horse, which is often saddled but rarely ridden. ~Â Mexican Proverb
Â
"Where there is a will there is a way," is an old and true saying. He who resolves upon doing a thing, by that very resolution often scales the barriers to it, and secures its achievement. To think we are able, is almost to be so - to determine upon attainment is frequently attainment itself. ~ Samuel Smiles

Â
Drop by Michael C's Food For Thought. I loved the quotation he shared: I once listed all the good things I did over the past year, and then turned them into resolution form and backdated them. That was a good feeling. - Robert Fulghum

Oh, I love English toffee. I love English toffee candy, ice cream, coffee cream.... Yummy.
My small doggy has decided that he doesn't much like this winter weather. He never has liked getting his feet wet. If it's raining or snowing, he has always liked keeping close to the house so he doesn't get wet or wet feet. But this year I might just have to buy him some boots. After every trip outside, he's sitting near the heat vent and licking his feet. When he comes in, he almost limps. Poor baby. I can't imagine walking in the snow in bare feet. :-)
My son had his birthday on the 6th, but we had another party for him today :)
think warm!
Michaela has been crying a lot today too. My head is hurting more, so I just took something for it (or at least I think I did - I don't remember actually taking it, but I remember having the pill in my hand...). Hubby wants me to take Robbie outside today to play in the snow, but I would have to take Michaela out with us. Hubby was planning on having time with us today, but instead he is behind on his school work, some videos he has to watch for work and other stuff. He will most likely be stuck upstairs doing his thing until dinner, then back up after he eats. I was hoping to go out to Applebee's for dinner tonight because I just need a break and we have a gift card that we could use - and Robbie's dinner would be free (he has a coupon for his birthday - it expires in a few days). The house is a mess and I have to get it all in order...even with this nasty headache.
Shine: Robbie had a good party with his friend. We went out for lunch - got pizza :)
