Charlie Sheen Dropped by Hanes
Good call by Hanes, I'd say: Immediately following Charlie Sheen's arrest for domestic violence against wife Brooke Mueller, the Hanes commercials featuring Sheen have been suspended.
The ads for Hanes' "Comfortsoft" undershirts line, starring Sheen and the brand's longtime sponsor Michael Jordan, were last scheduled to air on January 1st, but after the Two and a Half Men star's arrest on Christmas Day, most of the commercials disappeared.
Company spokesman Matthew Hall told People that they suspended the ads on December 28th, and said that it was a "pretty standard, straightforward call" given the nature of allegations. What exactly were the allegations? Sheen's wife reported that he held a knife to her throat and threatened to kill her -- all on Christmas Day. Not so holly-jolly.
Sheen's court date is scheduled for February 8th.
