Where is the NPR I used to know and love; the one that considered “all things;†the one that had an editorial staff to ensure that things were “newsworthy†and not just a disguised attempt at insult or smearing. I was recently informed of an “animation†on the NPR website. After watching this video, I sent the following complaint to the ombudsman. I feel like an old Monty Python skit where the man walks into a room for an argument but instead walks into the room where they insult you instead. I don’t want an argument, nor do I want to be insulted. I come to NPR for a decent, high quality discussion. Where is the NPR that I used to know; because I want my donations to go there and not to whatever you have become!
I am writing to you in regards to a recent entry on the NPR.org site entitled, “New Animation: 'Learn To Speak Tea Bag'.â€Â This short animation, aimed solely at degrading and insulting a specific class of people is not only insulting, it is simply not news worthy.  I expect a higher standard of journalism on NPR, a consideration of all things and all sides, not a crude attempt to dismiss an argument by insulting the opposition. I have been a good supporter of WSHU for many years, and in my own not always humble opinion, I do contribute well to the station. I may have to reconsider my donations, in light of where it appears NPR (one of the biggest expenses for my station) is going. I come to NPR because I want a discussion, not an argument and certainly not an insult.

Its not just you.
Its going downhill at an alarmingly accelerated rate, and its been headed this way since Bush I, and rapidly going downhill with the current sitting idiot in office!
sad thing is that I won't be afraid to speak my mind.....and I don't care if it gets someones knickers in a twist. There are some people here on gather that I used to respect and respect their opinions, but that number is dwindling, and there a select few names that comee to mind that will respect people who disagree with him, and I in turn give them the same respect.
But I will NOT be bullied into believing just because the crowd thinks I should feel that way.
I'm open to discussion, and debate, but that doesn't mean that I will agree with the other side.
mooch
Knowing that in advance and expecting lets me enjoy other reporting without getting mad any more. I'd like to believe an organization supported by our tax dollars was non partisan but I realized that is not to be years ago.
The world is not static and being part of it, neither are we.
