The Los Angeles police has opened an investigation into Brittany Murphy's death. At around 8 a.m Sunday morning, the fire department responded to a call from Murphy's home. After attempting to save her she was then transported to Cedars Sinai Mediacal Center in Los Angeles, where she died two hours later. Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Writer said Murphy collapsed in the bathroom, and an official cause of death can not be made at this time. Angelo Bertolotti, Murphy's father heard about his daughter's death from his son.
"She was just talented," Bertolotti said. "And I loved her very much."
Brittany Murphy was born in Atlanta, but grew up in New Jersey, and moved to L.A to pursue her acting career, which began to take off in the 90's. She played in television commercials, various movies-mostly comedy and did voice overs for Luanne Platter from King of the Hill and Gloria, the penguin from Happy Feet. Brittany had a close relationship with her mother Sharon Murphy who left her California home to move in with Brittany. Brittany also dated actor/comedian/producer Ashton Kutcher, who sent a message on twitter with devastating news about Brittany's death, he also sent his condolences to her hubby, family and her mother Sharon. No funeral arrangements have been set!
