The cold weather has come to stay for a while and I'm hungry for one thing, Japanese food, or more specifically Miso Soup.
Miso Soup is a staple of most Japanese meals along with rice and is easy to make. It is a broth that is very tasty and the cooker can add a number of different veggies (commonly seaweed, spring onions) or even spices. It's quite good :) I also like sushi, and some dishes I don't remember the names of...
Japanese food is easily my favorite cusine to eat and it's about as healthy as you can get as far as diet goes. Most of the foods have some type of vegtable in it and grease/fat is rarely included. I'm always learning about different Japanese foods and I've tried making a couple. Right now I'm reading a book with some recipes, so I'll be trying a few of those out.
Certain foods are associated with certain holidays too such as Soba noodles for new years, chocolate on valentines day and Kentucky Fried Chicken on christmas (no joke). Bento boxes (or lunch boxes) are made daily and contain a number of things including onigiri (riceballs);
Do you like Japanese food, if so, what's your favorite food?
