The Christmas Spirit

I think I am almost in the Christmas spirit.

As I posted at the beginning of the month, I wait until after my birthday, December 8, to start thinking about Christmas. Usually it is around the 23rd when it finally comes to me, "Hey it's almost Christmas"

This year on the 23rd I go to pick up my kids. They live in Spartanburg, South Carolina and I live near Philadelphia, Pa, total mileage 630 miles. My ex and I meet in Virginia, about half way. That is the day my Christmas spirit will arrive.

I am done most of my shopping, although between SwagBucks and here and other sites, I have accumulated some Amazon gift cards so am going to let them choose something from there for themselves.

Now it's just make room around the place for their stuff (although they will probably be spending a lot of time at their cousins) and setting up a place for them to sleep.

Usually I would get them either Christmas week or New Years week, but this year I get them over both.

Good luck to you. It must be heart-breaking to be so far away from them most of the year. Although a woman myself, I think men can get a raw deal when it comes to relationship breakups.
