Sometimes I just don't think~ can we say PhotoNut?

My kitchen window is blocked by the snow.

<- amaryllis's are getting snowshine

 

 

I thought, okay, let's go out and get a picture of the barn.

As you can see it's drifting big time.

So I'm out there and I walk down the hill to get a shot of the front of the barn. Thinking this will be a great shot. Can we say, "PhotoNut"?

Sure it's a great shot, but all at once the snow is over my knees and i have to go uphill. I figure, No problem.

 By the time I get to the barn, I am breathing hard. I'm in my 50's, alone,blizzard and I am out here taking pictures? LoL! I can laugh now, because I lived to write this.

I haven't walked in snow or seen snow like this since the early 80's and it is still coming down hard. This is getting scary. Enough!  It is pretty though.  Probably the last you'll hear from me tonight. I just know the power will be going soon.

  This Last picture is adorable. They played outside for the longest time. Now they are tucked back in the barn.

You have to be pretty used to heavy snow to even think of going outside when it's that high. I can't figure out if I should admire your courage or wonder at your stupidity. It is a great shot, so objective met and you survived to tell a good story. What can beat that?

LoL! stupidity is more like it. I am wore out from all this outdoor activity today in the snow. But, it was worth it.

well aren't you the brave one!! I like taking pictures (and yours are wonderful by the way) but I don't think I could get out in knee deep snow for a shot.

Kim, what a beautiful place you have. I love the photos. You've brought back sweet memories of my life on a small farm in Ohio many years ago. Great pictures, particularly of the horses. May I stop in for a big bowl of popcorn and maybe some hot chocolate???

The pictures are excellent. I can see that the snow is hitting your area hard, just as it is here in Washington, DC, and I can relate to your difficulties in dealing with it.

Hi Kim. What a winter storm. I love all the pictures. When I lived in Arkansas, many years ago, we had a snow storm come thru. The kids were out of school for a month. We did live in the middle of nowhere. That year I learned how to split wood. That helped me with cabin fever. Here in Arizona we have to drive up to Flagstaff to see the snow. Every once in a while we'll see a very small amount here. Melts in a couple hours. Stay warm and safe.

For a month, no school! Wow! I remember last bad storm i survived with my 3 kids years ago. I learned a lot of survival techniques during that one. Very scary.

Yes, but it's used mostly for the horses,lol. they have automatic heated waterers.

ur horses r beautiful. i don't have horses - mayb 1 day - my sister has horses tho' - she wuz always a horse woman - whereas I have developed a luv 4 them over the last few years
