I remember that one. That's the main one the Patriot Act took away.

and it is unlawful to take these rights away with anything but another Constitutional Amendment

That's true if you regard the constitution as the supreme law of the land and not just a piece of paper or Seriously flawed.

Yes. The only serious flaw in it is the lack of clarity about how limited religion is supposed to be in the first amendment, and the inclusion of the second amendment.

The first is very clear. There will be no state or national religion and the govrnment can't interfere in the free exercise of religion. All the rest is interpetation and interpllation. One needs to remember the framers of the Constitution were all believers in God, not necessarily Jesus. There were no isms in the country so they didn't consider them It meant the freedom to worship God.

As too the 2d, It is quite clear. In that day the citizen was considered the malitia. knowing that makes it quite clear, everyone has the right to bear arms, period.

Yup---no matter what you've been told, you have a right to be secure in your person, house, papers and effects. Further more, it's also stated in the USC, as seen on this no trespassing sign. I am SO getting some of those signs for those people who watch more television than they read and study important documents. NARLO may be a little over the edge for me, but unfortunately I think they're probably needful. :-/

This amendment will soon be a farce. The government and private business and your neighbors (if you are unlucky) will all be able to watch everything you do and hear every word you say. Within 10 years almost every appliance, home, and car will be capable of reporting your activities. You should enjoy what privacy you have now because it won't last. Your only alternative is to have the economy crash so badly that we no longer have electricity.

By coincidence I was reading the November issue of Discover Magazine and came across the article "Digital Exposure" which indicates that we are already well past having many secrets.

This technological age we live in has made enforcement of the Fourth Amendment difficult. This is not necessarily a bad thing,but can be used for evil if we're not careful.-Norman
