President Obama's has called for a "reduction in abortions," yet he is freeing up more taxpayer dollars for the slaughter of unborn children than any President in U.S. history. A Family Research Council report opines, "President Obama may have given himself a "good solid B-plus" on his first year, but you can bet that Planned Parenthood is giving him much higher marks--especially after its Secret Santa gifted millions more in taxpayer-funded abortion.
When the President inked his name on the $447 billion Omnibus bill yesterday, he was effectively signing the check for tens of thousands of D.C. abortions. Maybe that explains why ABC News is reporting that the President "seemed a little embarrassed about the whole deal, refusing to sign the bill in public or even to release a photograph."
FRC continues, Obama's promise that " 'No federal dollars will be used to fund abortions' appear(s) to be nothing more than a facade. It masks an administration that has done nothing to reduce abortion--but everything in its power to expand it. Remember, barely 24 hours into his first term, this President immediately set to work undoing years of pro-life policy. Among President Obama's first acts was lifting a ban on taxpayer-funded abortion--overturning the Mexico City policy".
The FRC report finally pins the label of Hypocrite in Chief on our President who is pressing Congress to pass "his so-called health care reform bill presently in the Senate. The same man who asked, 'How can we reduce the number of abortions?' refuses to accept the easy answer: stop paying for them!"
What's your opinion? Is the President a hypocrite, or is his "abortion talk" just political rhetoric?

Frankly, I am too chicken hearted. However, I would not like to grudge anyone his rightful due. I may be a little biased. But it appears that the US citizens (Democrats?) unable to comprehend the good intentions of the earlier administration rushed for a change, and in their plunge overrated Prez. Obama who lacked experience, what to say of the required formula for turning the tide in his favour after his elevation as Prez. Result is that we have a clumsy situation and people are becoming disenchanted with little or no result both at home and on the world front. Their expectations have been belied. But he is surely putting in his might from the front. He is sincere but has surmounting problems which can at best be judged for a finale after a year more. For the moment, I go with Danielle to mark for him – a ‘C’.
Prez. George Bush did command respect by way of his experience (from his father), had a personality, liked by many countries with whom he did not go to war on terror (India being one), had stature as a determined man of great significance. These qualities could make him stand out as someone who did his best but was not appreciated by a select few. Unfortunately Prez. Obama could not make that impact.
The public has now responded to these lies via various polls, and members of their own party have started to oppose them, fearing retribution from the voters in 2010.
So, our leaders have lost what little credibility they had and are struggling to pass a health care bill, any health care bill, while both the right and left attack them for their dishonesty and incompetence. The abortion issue is the best example of this dishonesty as our leaders assure pro-life voters that their taxes won't be spent to fund abortions, while pro-life elected officials reveal their duplicity and oppose the bill.
At this point the American people, minus a small cadre of KoolAid drinkers, do not trust their government and believe their government is willing to act against their will and their principles. That is a tragedy that repeats the loss of faith in President Roosevelt and his "New Deal", who also tried to take advantage of an economic calamity to remake America to his vision.
The loss of trust in Roosevelt saved the country from the New Deal. I pray this loss of trust will save our country from the misguided agenda of President Obama.
I wish you a very very Happy Christmas and a very Happy and Prosperous New year-2010. May the coming of Jesus Christ kindle the flame of love, happiness and prosperity for years up to eternity, when we shall all meet at the benign feet of God Almighty.
I just chose to watch a very liberal program which I haven't watched in years. BILL MOYERS JOURNAL.
His first two guests were extremely liberal. Both men had such integrity and honesty I loved them immediately. I feel many liberals tend to feel that the advancement of liberalism is the standard. You can do or say whatever advances the agenda. These two men used the standard of honesty. I loved them; I disagreed with every word they said however :):)
The 2nd 1/2 of the show was some man, attorney I think ... who's entire agenda was to keep the banks from reclaiming the homes of people that had been foreclosed upon. He feels noble for helping the poor.
The entire section was teaching these people that they were OWED their home by ?????. I guess the Banks because they had more money.
No one said "Why did you get a house that was way more expensive than you can afford.?"
They just made villians out of the banks because they were rich. Nor was it mentioned that the government played their share by forcing the banks to loan money to people that couldn't afford the payments.
They all stood with their chests out in the end because the people got something for nothing.
It's not that I don't ache for the ones who lost their home.
It's just that the standard of integrity for many are based on human opinions and America is sliding down hill. God's stand is so clear and true. Here are 3 statements from the Bible that just say SO MUCH.
Ex 23:2 "You shall not follow the masses in doing evil, nor shall you testify in a dispute so as to turn aside after a multitude in order to pervert justice;
3 nor shall you be partial to a poor man in his dispute.
4 " If you meet your enemy's ox or his donkey wandering away, you shall surely return it to him. NASU
Don't lie. Show justice to all. Love your enemy.
What a great book. What a great God. Justice and truth; What a great standard.
From the quotes you placed with the comment, I can well understand the indepth faith you so dearly hold within you. Indeed, your understanding of the Bible makes you whole. Had Jesus been here today he would surely have uttered those words again "Martha, Martha, you are worried about many things", but Glome has chosen the best part.
As a matter of fact, speaking about myself, I personally have little or no faith in the outcome of interviews. An interview can invariably make any person say anything that suits the occasion and often times it will his lookout to express a polished version of his inner thoughts. So at the spur of the moment he makes his wordings as appealing to the audience as possible, but behind the back or at the opportune time when one is elevated to a position of dignity, he will certainly have second thoughts and/or 'make hay while the sun shines".
During 2008 too, the media projected Prez. Obama as an imposing figure and the public became hilarious and thought him to be the savior, come on the stage to wave the magic wand to get the US economy on the rails and foreign policies at the zenith of its glory. But it was not to be. In their hurry to force a change in the White House, practically lifted him off the ground and placed him at the podium of White House. Today, they realize that things are not all that bed of roses as they expected -
Mathew: 7
13 Enter ye in at the narrow gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way that leadeth to destruction, and many there are who go in thereat.
The road to success is narrow as Jesus Christ Himself preached and the policies adopted by the earlier administration was the only one way out – it to pave the way for peace first and then set the foot forward towards a progressive world.
I am for voting out all the incumbants, both Republican and Democrat. Two sides of the same plug nichol.
Lots of better ways to do a lot of good things, but both these parties are not listening to the people. They don't think they have too.
It's we, that need to get the houses in order, and we, who need to get the ducks in a row.

I don't have the stats on DC, but I hear that MD has 15,000 Medicaid patients waiting for care (a number have died while waiting) because doctors and hospitals have pulled our of Medicaid. They left because Medicaid payments are too low to cover their costs. I suspect DC has the same situation, because the cost of living is even higher than MD.
I believe that nothing will change for the poor of DC because they will still be covered by Medicaid, the same folks will be running the program, the same docs and hospitals still won't join the program, and, on top of all that, the feds are dumping even more costs on the states to "pay" for their grandiose program of reform.
It isn't that the folks at Medicaid don't want to help, it's that the lack of money for the service has tied their hands. That's how you described the situation above and I accept your word on the matter.
But, when the government has a health care program that provides no incentives for people to develop healthier lifestyles, then you can be sure it will be expensive. And when the government commits to that program of care and then doesn't have the guts and wherewithal to pay providers what their services cost, that is despicable.
Did the Congressman and Senators you voted for the last several times win? If so you had everything to do with the actions of Congress. We voters must take responsibility for the actions of those we elect.
I was not laying guilt on you. I was pointing out the cause of the problem. We voters elected people who underfunded the program.
About the healthier lifestyles, what kind of incentives would you like to see? Because I promise you, many conservatives will hate having the government tell them how to live. Remember the objections to notices about the health hazards of smoking?
I agree that the government (our representatives) should pay what the services are worth.
We are used to low ratings for a President (Clinton & Bush got us used to that), but I think Americans opposing their government and mad enough to do something about it is real "change you can believe in".
These are strange times we live in.
The history of socialists is drenched in blood. Starting with Stalin's purges and going all the way to Cambodia circa 1975 ... all the way up to the fall of the Soviet Union ... socialist leaders maintain their power at any cost.
We the People have very good reasons to distrust this president and his Chicago mob in the White House.
I dont think he even knows what the truth is , if he ever did know at all... I think he is so far out of touch with reality, that maybe, they should give him a mental evaluation... Because I think he is stuck on himself.... Remember, he is the annointed one...ummmmmm, ummmmm yes, he can... He is Obama the man.... and everything he touches turns to gold... Just look at how hard he had to work to get the Nobel Peace Prize....Amazing...
The biggest abortionists in the USA have always been Republicans. Do your own research and you will see that Margaret Sanger's biggest financiers were John D Rockefeller, Prescott Bush, and Clarence Gamble.
Obama has never gone on record as supporting abortion and he has said Federal dollars won't pay for anything like that. By contrast, Republican hero Bush is the world's biggest abortionist:

''"This is the first time the Court has ever held that physicians can be prohibited from using a medical procedure deemed necessary by the physician to benefit the patient's health."''
see: Annas GJ (2007). "The Supreme Court and abortion rights". N Eng J Med 356 (21): 2201–7.
Obama was merely upholding the patient and her physician's right to determine whether her health condition warranted a late term abortion so that her health would not be impaired by the pregnancy. This right was guaranteed under Roe vs Wade. Note also, that the SC through the G v C case is actually UPHOLDING every other provision in the Roe vs Wade case.
If anything you should have attacked the ultra conservative court for maintaining the legalization of abortion. Remember that it was legalized by a Republican majority in Roe, affirmed by a conservative Republican majority in Case (1992), and again affirmed by an ultra conservative court in Gonzalez (2007).
partisan politics aside, Obama argued for the death of infants in the case of botched abortions.
partisan politics aside, there are democrats who support life.
partisan politics aside, there are republicans who support the death of unborn babies.
Why give a damn about partisan positions?
Do yourself a favor and read Obama's actual words. It is all very different from your characterizations.
This man is out of touch with reality ... big time!
What will he do to We the People if the grumbling about his mismanagement of the economy grows? Will he follow the example of other socialist heads of state through out history? Will he go to war against those Americans who do not mindlessly LOVE this leader?
The next question becomes, what do we have to do to protect ourselves from an out of control government?
