I got the form 501, which is not easy to find, even though it is available on the Fair Political Practices Commission (FPCC) web site. They hide the forms page.
First they tell you to go to the web site of the Secretary of State, but the form is not there. It is on the FPCC web site. The Secetary of State site has a link to the FPCC site. Then you have to figure out which link you want on that site, and it is anything but obvious.
Anway, I got the form 501. Afer I file it with the Secretary of State of Cailfornia, I can accept political donations up to the limit.
The problem is, I can't find ou what the limit is. It must be somewhere on one of the two web sites, probably in a PDF that takes ages to load into my browser, hidden within 50 pages or more of bureaucratese.
Fortunately, I am not likely to collect very much money for my campaign, so I am not likely to go over the limit, whatever it is.
I think I have to form some kind of organzation, as well, or maybe I can just use my local Libertarian Party. Who knows? I will ask the locla Party officials.
