Unless you’ve been living under a rock or just given up on the news because of all the Tiger Woods hoopla, you’ve probably heard that Michelle Duggar gave birth to baby number 19, little Josie, last week. Michelle, who had been hospitalized with a gallstone, underwent an emergency C-section last when it was discovered that she was suffering from Preeclampsia. Thursday night she delivered little Josie Duggar 14 weeks premature and weighing only 1lb, 6 oz.Â
Unfortunately, since the news broke last week about little Josie Duggar, we have not heard an update from the family. I’ve been looking for one on their website and on the TLC site and all I can find is the original statements from the birth that tell us mom and baby are still hospitalized and that little Josie will be receiving extended care in the NICU.
This is of course a serious situation. Premature babies born 27-29 weeks these days in the US have a 90% survival rate but many face complications. Little Josie was born at 26 weeks. In the official statement, she was listed as in "stable condition" in the NICU.   Â
The Duggars are a very religious family and I think it is appropriate to offer our prayers for both Michelle, who is recovering from surgery, and little Josie, who has a long road ahead of her.Â
Here is the official statement from the hospital that was released last week.

And TLC’s show site to leave your well wishes for the family.
