Obese Woman, Mia Landingham, Kills Boyfriend, Mikal Middleton-Bey, by Sitting on Him

Last summer obese woman, Mia Landingham, killed her boyfriend, Mikal Middleton-Bey, by sitting on him. Landingham outweighed Middleton-Bey by at least 200 pounds.

Apparently there was a history of domestic violence in their relationship.Â Middleton-Bey also fathered three children with Landingham.

Landingham pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and was sentenced to just probation. Middleton-Bey's family was disappointed by the decision saying, "So basically you can say that I can go sit on somebody and get probation?"

Just goes to show ya it can be over before the fat lady sings! Kidding aside, its murder plain and simple and probation is too little a price to pay. Now if abuse was truly a factor, in bringing this about, I'm sorry some jail time still should still be served. It doesn't matter by what means the act was committed, murder is murder.

In Jamaica, it is actually very common for a fat person to threaten retaliation by sitting on an abusive or offensive person, but I have never read of anyone going this far.

I have posted on abused women who retaliated by killing their husbands getting long jail sentences. It seems that the legal system has started to adopt a different attitude.
